The net wage of a construction worker depends on your family situation and number of dependents. As a single person without children, you keep on average 55% to 60% of your gross hourly wage. If you earn €16 gross, that's about €9 net per hour. Working full-time (38 hours), you get a net monthly wage around €2,000. With a flexi-job or extra overtime, this can increase significantly.
Wages in construction are negotiated by the trade unions ACV Bouw and ABVV Algemene Centrale. They conclude a sectoral agreement every two years. In 2026, an average wage increase of 2.5% was agreed.
